The DCU Jimmy Olsen series recently greenlit is NOT called DC Crime as per the initial trade report. At least that’s what DC Studios head James Gunn says and he should know. Gunn is quick to say on Threads that he has no idea where the name DC Crime came from, as they’ve never used that name internally. However, Gunn also stresses that the rest of the trade report (check related section below) isn’t necessarily false.
In other words, the story itself is correct, and there is a Jimmy Olsen led TV series coming to the DCU. However, clearly the name DC Crime was never in the mix.
Gunn’s quotes below,
“Just FYI there has never been a project titled “DC Crime” in development, not even as a working title. I don’t know where that came from but it’s weird.”
“And no that doesn’t mean all of the rest of the story is false.”

Honestly, I didn’t think the DC Crime title would stick when I heard it anyway. It’s just not a good title in anyway I can think of. What the title of this show will be, I guess we have to wait and see?
Though if you’re reading, as always Mister Gunn, Can I just point out that shows without titles make it much harder for the press to cover. Therefore, if you could give us a replacement title beyond ‘The show formerly (incorrectly) known as DC Crime led by Jimmy Olsen and set in the DCU’, that’d be sweet.
Thanks for your consideration.
So yeah, the Jimmy Olsen led DCU series is NOT called DC Crime. I think we can all sleep a little better tonight knowing that. Leave any thoughts you have below, as for me, did he really need to correct this?
