The Jimmy Olsen/Gorilla Grodd DCU series has found its Grodd, plus we have a rumor that the writing has begun on Lanterns Season 2. A mix of news and rumor and we begin with a report from Deadline on who will be playing Gorilla Grodd in the currently untitled Jimmy Olsen/Gorilla Grodd series set in the DCU.

‘Jimmy Tatro will officially bring to life DC’s Gorilla Grodd in the upcoming Superman spinoff series from HBO Max centering on Jimmy Olsen, sources tell Deadline. While the casting will add to the buzz around the project, HBO has yet to officially greenlight the series.’
‘As Deadline reported last week, Tatro was in talks to join the DC Universe as the hyper-intelligent telepathic ape who has sought to rule both the simian and human worlds, though the Flash has frequently thwarted his plans.’
‘The spinoff is billed as being akin to a true-crime docuseries with Jimmy Olsen (played by Skyler Gisondo in the summer blockbuster directed by James Gunn) from Superman hosting. Season 1 reportedly will be centered around DC bad guy Gorilla Grodd, who often wrestles The Flash.’
I have no ide what this will be like and right now I’m not excited for it, but we shall see if that changes.

Second up today we have a rumor from Home of DCU who claim that work has begun on Lanterns Season 2, at least as far as the writing goes. Now, this does not mean Lanterns has a Season 2 greenlight. In fact it’s common for the writers to sketch out their ideas to pitch for what Season 2 would be after Season 1’s success has been measured.
