After quite a few false rumours, Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) was recently cast as Domino, however, the biggest question still looms in that, “Just who will be playing the famous Nathan Summers, aka Cable in Deadpool 2.” If you do not know, Cable is a time traveling mutant that was sent into the future for his own protection, and he is the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Jean Grey. Cable has superhuman physical abilities, and has some telekinetic and telepathic abilities as well. Additionally, a few versions of him have had other mysterious powers as well.

There may be as many rumors to the casting of Cable as there were with Domino as Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren, David Harbour, and Pierce Bronson have all been mentioned. I would love to see Karl Urban play him, but he is my pick for the actor to play Batman when Ben Affleck eventually drops out. Irregardless, we will not have to wait much longer for an answer as screenplay writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick spoke with ComicBook.com.

“An announcement will be coming very soon. We’re gonna go into production in the next couple of months and cast announcements will be coming fast and furious. They’ve got X-Force coming up. Cable is head of the X-Force so it’s someone who can also command a movie franchise. It’s a tall task and we have been on the hunt for a very long time. I think once it’s announced, as we get closer, people are gonna go crazy for it.”

They also reported it would need to be “someone with a great deadpan thing where they can react to someone who’s being crazy.” That sounds like Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut – Breaking Bad) would be perfect for the role, with the exception that they also said thecharacter must be “physically imposing and able to emote.”

Also in an interview which you can read HERE, on this crazy website called LRMOnline, Edward Douglas was able to confirm that there will be some new mutants entering the mix, that I speculate will likely be based from the New Mutant Comics, where Deadpool and Domino first appeared, and V1 X-Force as well.

I most certainly can’t wait, and today would be a perfect day to find out just who Cable will be portrayed by! Who would you like to see play Cable?

Deadpool 2 will be released in 2018.
