While plenty of geeks were hopeful that Deadpool would prove to be a worthwhile risk for 20th Century Fox, there was no way anyone could have predicted that the $50 million film-that-could would go on to make $750 million at the box office. Even better, the film actually turned out to be a pretty warm and personal love story with a dark and foul-mouthed edge to it — which was refreshing for a genre that had pretty much kept itself relegated to PG-13 ratings for the past decade.

When Deadpool succeeded, fans had an idea where Deadpool 2 would go in terms of characters introduced. At the top of the list of mutants to bring to the table were both Domino and Cable, and as we already know, those two are cast and confirmed to be in the film. The former is set to be played by Zazie Beetz, and the latter by Josh Brolin.

Though we know who’s playing who, we have yet to see either in costume, and with production underway, it’s only a matter of time before we see what they look like, but Brolin recently took to Instagram to at least give us a first look at his transformation process.

Check it out below:

As we can see, Brolin is already sporting the ‘do (though we have to wonder if they’ll whiten it fully), and he has some goop on him that’ll help mold his face into the grittier mutant that we know from the comics. We have to say, given how much he already looks the part, we can’t wait to see how much he’ll resemble the character when all said and done. More than anything, we’re excited to see the dynamic between him and Deadpool.

Are you looking forward to seeing Brolin’s full transformation? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018.
