Deadpool 2: Ryan Reynolds Parodies ‘Flashdance’ In New Poster

Deadpool may have sat out the Super Bowl this year, opting not to release a trailer, but that’s not to say they’re taking their marketing sitting down. Deadpool did tweet out plenty of foul-mouthed observations during the big game itself, and just two days after, star Ryan Reynolds has released another poster for the film.

Check out the new poster below for The Untitled Deadpool Sequel below:

As you can see, the poster is a loving homage to the romance film, Flashdance, which follows a woman named Alex who works in a mill by day and dances at a bar by night. Given the nature of Deadpool, it’s hard not to love the heavy coating of irony that comes with its marketing, and this continues that trend.

The official synopsis for The Untitled Deadpool Sequel is below:

“After surviving a near-fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”
