Deadpool 3 Could Be Rated R And Under The 20th Century Studios Banner

It’s kind of amazing how much ink we’ve spent on Deadpool following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Given the Disney brand, many of us continue to wonder whether or not they will let the creatives follow through with a character-appropriate rating. In other words, we continue to wonder whether or not they’ll allow the films to be rated R just as they were when 20th Century Fox flew solo.

I mean, the logical choice would be for Disney to allow the franchise to continue unimpeded under the 20th Century Studios banner (the new name for 20th Century Fox), but I guess the logical thing doesn’t always win out. However, speaking with Screen Rant, co-writer Rhett Reese seems to think that’s the way things will shake out.

“Absolutely,” he said when asked whether or not a Deadpool 3 would be rated R. “Because I don’t think it’ll be under the Disney banner. Like, I don’t think when you go to Deadpool 3, there’s going to be a Magic Castle that appears. I think it’s going to be under the Fox banner, so yes.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve been assured of this. In the past, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has stated as such, the inner workings of big studios are mysterious, and you never know if and when some aspect will lead to an unexpected change.

What do you think of the comments from Reese? Do you agree that an R-rated Deadpool 3 is most likely? Let us know your thoughts down below!
