Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy says the release date is at real risk of slipping due to strike delays and also plays coy on some Taylor Swift rumors. As we know, Deadpool 3 was deep into production when it had to be shut down due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. The movie is supposed to release by May 3rd next year. However, as explained by Levy in a recent interview with The Wrap, that date is at real risk of slipping.
“I wish I knew, I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date],” he said when asked for a status update. “I know we were gonna be May 3. Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”
I really can’t see how they can shoot half a movie, edit it and get VFX work complete in the next 7 months. Especially when the strikes are still running for now. Our last report saying talks were not going well.

The outlet then pushed Levy on some casting rumors for Deadpool 3. Namely that pop mega star Taylor Swift was being cast as Dazzler. Oh, and this is the first time I heard that rumor, so you won’t find any coverage of it previously on LRM Online. Apparently Swift was spotted at a Football game with Levy, Reynolds and Jackman, which certainly added fuel to that fire.
“They sure are loud,” Levy said of Swift fans about this. “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”
That’s certainly not a denial and Dazzler has musical based abilities. In other words, for now, the rumor is still on the table until we hear confirmation either way, which is likely not happening anytime soon.
