For the first time in decades, Marvel and DC are joining forces to bring two of their most iconic characters together in Deadpool/Batman #1, hitting comic shops this September.
Announced last month, the one-shot Deadpool/Batman #1 will be published by Marvel Comics, with a follow up titled Batman/Deadpool #1 arriving from DC Comics in November. The crossover kicks off with writer Zeb Wells (Amazing Spider-Man) and legendary artist Greg Capullo (Batman, Spawn) at the helm. But that’s not all—backup stories will feature even more surprise Marvel/DC team-ups, promising a multiverse of mayhem for longtime comic fans.
Today, Marvel has revealed a trio of dynamic variant covers from superstar artists Mark Bagley, Ryan Stegman, and Skottie Young, each putting their unique spin on the chaos that unfolds when Gotham’s Dark Knight collides with Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth.

- Mark Bagley’s Foil Variant Cover gives fans a glimpse at an unexpected alliance, as Batman and Deadpool join forces to take on none other than the Clown Prince of Crime himself, the Joker.
- Ryan Stegman’s Homage Variant pays tribute to Todd McFarlane’s legendary Incredible Hulk #340 cover—this time replacing Hulk and Wolverine with Deadpool and Batman in a kinetic, nostalgia-fueled face-off.
- Skottie Young’s Variant brings his signature playful style to the crossover, offering a more lighthearted (and adorably chaotic) take on this historic meeting.

In the story, Wade Wilson is hired for a mysterious job in Gotham City, but Batman isn’t known for welcoming strangers especially the kind that bring katanas and chimichangas. The big question: will Batman stop Deadpool in his tracks, or team up with him to face a greater threat?
With top tier talent, variant covers that collectors will crave, and the novelty of seeing Marvel and DC characters share the page once again, Deadpool/Batman #1 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest comic book events of the year.
