Tomato To-maw-to, Deadpool Deathstroke. They’re basically the same thing, right? Wrong!

Sure, Marvel and DC fans know that these two mercs are about as far away from one another as you can get, but some fans can’t seem to tell them apart.

Imagine the frustration from creator Rob Liefeld as he has to sit back and watch as people confuse the characters with one another. Well no more! Speaking with Nerdy Pop on YouTube, Liefeld outlined how very different these characters are from one another.

Check out the video below!

While the two characters are very different from one another, it is admittedly easy to see where the confusion comes from, as both characters have an iteration of the word “dead” in their names. What’s more, both of their real names (Wade Wilson, Slade Wilson) end in -ade Wilson. One popular story is that one of the co-creators Fabian Nicieza, named Deadpool Wade Wilson as an inside joke nod to Slade Wilson, a DC villain who came out over a decade before Deadpool. Inside jokes aside, their personalities are quite different.

Either way, general audiences will have to get used to telling these two apart. Right now, Deadpool is the big success story of the year, and very soon Deathstroke will be making his grand appearance as the main villain Ben Affleck’s upcoming standalone Batman film.
