At one point we heard she was dead off-screen, but now Deborah Ann Woll confirms she (Karen) is back for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Ahead of Season 1’s premiere on March 4, Woll spoke with ET Online. She talked about how excited she is by the scripts she’s been reading for Season 2. We know Season 2’s scripts are not fully finished as per showrunner Dario Scardapane. However, the finished scripts have clearly ben sent to the actors.
Therefore, we can be pretty sure that Karen does not die in Season 1. Clearly Karen will be back for Season 2. Asked about Karen’s fate in the comics, Woll stresses that’s not a storyline they are getting to yet. In other words, she won’t be killed in Season 1.
As for the scripts she says,
“The scripts are amazing. I’m deeply honored actually to be a part of this storyline which Dario’s written. I’m impressed and thrilled.”

Woll said the cast are currently in prep mode for Season 2. We know now that Marvel plans for Daredevil: Born Again to be a yearly show which goes on for many seasons. Let’s hope it’s as good as Marvel seems to think it is.
Now, whether Foggy makes it through Season 1 is a different question? Daredevil was effectively re-filmed and both Karen and Foggy were only added during the reboot period. We have no solid facts on this. However, the but the rumors, which fans were unhappy with, were that Foggy and Karen had died off-screen before the show begins.
Hopefully, we got a lucky break with the strikes happening when they did. They gave Marvel the time to pivot the show towards something more akin to Netflix’s Daredevil.
