The Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing to expand. While things are seemingly drawing to a close in terms of the main overarching story, we can’t forget that there will still be more movies than we can count in the foreseeable future. Some boxes are closing, but the titan studio is making sure to open up plenty of others in their films. We saw that in Captain Marvel, and we’re sure to see it in other movies in the future.
We may have had our first tease, courtesy of Doctor Strange 2 director Scott Derrickson. The helmer recently took to Twitter to post a comic image of Doctor Strange drowning underwater with Namor the Submariner behind him. He gives up the odd caption, “Are You Experienced?” You can check out the now-deleted tweet below!

The image is taken from the cover of 2011’s Fear Itself: The Deep #1. Is Derrickson teasing that the next movie will be inspired by that comic? Furthermore, does this mean we can expect the sea-dwelling character to be introduced in that film? Honestly, I think that would be pretty damn brilliant of Marvel.
He is a character that may get pegged as an Aquaman rip-off by mainstream audiences, so it’d be probably be best to have him as a supporting character before he spins off into his own little story. Of course, this can all be smoke and mirrors from Derrickson, but it does seem odd that it was deleted. Maybe there is some credence to it all…
