Apparently, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice had an additional easter egg for Cyborg, on top of the poorly conceived scene where Batman clicks through Lex Luthor’s Meta-Human files. Again, I want to thank Luthor for designing half the Justice League members’ logos…
In a discussion with DC All Access, tracked down by ComicBook.com, Cyborg actor Ray Fisher revealed there was a much more subtle easter egg also present in Batman V Superman:
“I think the beautiful thing is the connectivity. Because if you look at Batman v Superman [Dawn of Justice], when Gotham City University is getting destroyed by Metropolis [in football] 50 to nothing. If you track it back timeline wise, that would have been just around the time Victor Stone, who was their all-star quarterback, got into his accident and was no longer able to be a part of the team.”

Victor Stone is Cyborg’s original identity, a football star from high school, not college, in DC’s 2011 relaunch of their comics called the ‘New 52,’ which seems to be the closest source of inspiration for the DC Extended Universe. That is, until they start incorporating their current rebrand, ‘Rebirth’ into the films.
Though we did not see what caused the horrific injury in Batman V Superman that left Victor little more than a head and a torso, in the ‘New 52’ he is caught in an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs, where his father Silas Stone works, when a Father Box detonated. Based on flashbacks in the trailer for Justice League, like the above picture of Stone playing football, maybe we will see what caused his misfortune.
Justice League is in theaters this Friday, November 17, 2017.
