I’ll admit, when it was first revealed that Disney would be making their own streaming service, I didn’t really have high hopes that they’d actually dive into it as heavily as they have. I half-expected them to just put out their content, only partially commit to the idea of streaming content, and continue to try to milk physical and digital purchases for the foreseeable future.
Obviously, that is very much not the case, with Disney+ now looking to be one of the most ambitious streaming services out there. In addition to having the Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, etc. catalog, they have original content like The Mandalorian and Loki hitting.

And these are big shows.
According to a new report from THR, The Mandalorian cost around $15 million per episode — which is how much Game of Thrones cost at its peak with its super-sized episodes — and the Marvel shows, including The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Hawkeye, cost a reported $25 million an episode!
That’s some serious coinage, proving just how much Disney is putting into this service.
