Disney Settle ScarJo Dispute Over Black Widow

Disney settle ScarJo dispute over Black Widow compensation! As per the report from THR details about the settlement have not been disclosed. Well, you hardly expected them to tell us how much they paid Johansson, did you? The dispute was over Disney’s decision to release Black Widow on Disney+ the same day as theatres. Johansson’s team felt the star had unfairly missed out on pay she would have bene due for box office percentages.

At one point it felt like both sides were getting a little heated, but now it’s all sorted, it’s time to cozy up again.

“I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney,” stated Johansson. “I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.”

Disney Studios chairman Alan Bergman added: “I’m very pleased that we have been able to come to a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding Black Widow. We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror.”

So there we have confirmation that Tower of Terror with Johansson is very much back on.

Chances are, the wave of potential lawsuits will probably now quietly disappear with compensation deals to the talent. Frankly, if Disney had played this card to begin with, they’d likely have saved themselves some money and time. WB were quick to negotiate new deals with all their talent in the wake of the heir movies going to HBO Max.

Fans are now wondering if we will ever see Natasha Romanoff again in the MCU? Let’s face it, with how crazy the MCU is, it’s possible to do it. However I’m not sure that would be the right call. Nat and Tony Stark should not return to the MCU! Doing so would in my opinion trivialize their sacrifices in Endgame. Cap, that’s a different issue entirely, and I still want an old man Cap movie one day once Evans has aged into his later years more. Don’t even care if it’s set in an another Universe.

What do you think as Disney settle ScarJo dispute over Black Widow compensation? This was always going to happen right? Thoughts below.
