Disney+ is taking over the world. Okay, that’s probably an exaggeration, but I urge you to find someone who isn’t ready to hand the House of Mouse $6.99 a month for their service, and I’ll give you five dollars (and cue the comments filling up with snowflake haters out there). Okay, again, that’s another exaggeration, but you get the point. Disney+ may not be out yet, but excitement for it is real.
Many of us have grown up with Disney playing on our VCRs and TV screens, and the prospect of getting decades and decades of content at our fingertips is an enviable one for sure. Couple all that with the recent deal with Verizon, which gives many of their customers Disney+ free for a year, and have you a recipe for success.

According to THR, Michael Nathanson, a media and telecom and analyst at MoffetNathanson, is quite optimistic about Disney’s future in streaming. He predicts that even if only half of Verizon’s customers opt in, that Disney could get 9 million U.S. subscribers in year one and 18 million worldwide by the end of 2020.
“Rarely has a company willingly created this much financial disruption in strategically pivoting to a new business model,” Nathanson said.
As of right now, Disney is expecting somewhere between 60 and 90 million worldwide subscribers by 2024.
Will you be among them?
