Are you ready for some fresh, family-friendly reboots? I hope so, because that’s exactly what Disney is going to bring to their impending Disney+ streaming service, as was revealed during the earnings call on Tuesday. While on the call, there were four family-friendly film franchises that were revealed to be getting a reboot in the near future.
These four franchises are none other than Home Alone (probably the one that will spur the most conversation), Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Cheaper by the Dozen.

This announcement falls in line with statements made in the past regarding the future of mid-budget films. Over the years, we’ve seen fewer mid-budget movies hit theaters, and even future non-animated family-friendly comedies grace the big screen. Disney+ certainly seems like the perfect home for this kind of thing, especially with these familiar properties.
In addition to these titles, it was revealed that Fox Searchlight will be making movies for Disney+, so if you were hoping for more mature fare, that may be your way.
