At the highly anticipated D23 event, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro took the stage to unveil an extraordinary vision for the future of Disney parks, cruise ships, and digital storytelling. The event, held as part of “Tonight at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event,” was filled with major announcements, surprise celebrity appearances, and musical performances that left Disney’s fans buzzing with excitement.
D’Amaro emphasized Disney’s commitment to growth and innovation, promising a future where storytelling will transcend boundaries both in the physical world and the digital space. “Disney Experiences is embarking on an accelerated path of ambitious growth and innovation,” D’Amaro stated. “With so many great Disney stories to tell, we’re excited to bring an unprecedented number of new projects to life in the near future.”
One of the event’s standout moments was the announcement of a collaboration with Epic Games, marking Disney’s expansion into the digital universe. The collaboration will bring beloved Disney characters and stories into a dynamic, interactive environment, allowing fans to watch, play, and even create Disney stories in new ways.
D’Amaro revealed plans for four new cruise ships set to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet between 2027 and 2031, expanding Disney’s maritime offerings to 13 vessels. These ships will continue Disney’s tradition of world-class entertainment, dining, and guest service.
Disney parks are also set for major expansions. Six new themed lands and areas will immerse guests in the worlds of Monsters, Inc., Cars, Indiana Jones, Encanto, Avatar, The Lion King, and Disney Villains. These new areas will feature 14 all-new attractions, including the first-ever ride-through experience themed to Coco at Disney California Adventure and a new nighttime parade, “Disney Starlight,” at Magic Kingdom.

The announcements were made even more exciting with appearances from Disney Imagineers, creative leads, and surprise guests. Billy Crystal revealed plans for a Monsters, Inc.-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while Meghan Trainor delivered a moving performance of “Feed the Birds.” Other highlights included a performance of “Life Is a Highway” by Shaboozey to announce a Cars-themed area, and Rita Ora’s rendition of “Trust in Me” as part of the reveal of a Villains-themed land.

- Lion King Area at Disneyland Paris: A Lion King-themed area with a water attraction will join Disney Adventure World.
- Epic Games Collaboration: Disney characters and stories will soon converge in a connected universe through an expansive partnership with Epic Games.
