Last night, it was revealed that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson was out. He did a great job with that first movie and was set to continue work on the sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but left due to creative differences, as Derrickson and Marvel Studios both confirmed.

Of course, this set the internet ablaze, and many are starting to connect the dots, with many pointing to conflicting statements between Derrickson and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige regarding whether or not this would be a horror movie as the main culprit.

But, of course, there are some big Hollywood folks that have reactions, and apparently Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum had three words that he sent to Derrickson via email.

Yeah, I know, it’s kind of a non-story here, but I’m amused. While Marvel Studios has been relatively flawless with their movies and filmmakers as of late, this is the first chink in the armor we’ve seen since Edgar Wright left Ant-Man. Yes, there have been other issues, but in years that followed, they’ve actually done a solid job of staying in good terms with their filmmakers, which is a stark contrast with sibling studio Lucasfilm.

Will this ultimately affect the story and release slate? We’ll see.
