Doctor Strange sequel adds Xochitl Gomez.

Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. are busier than ever working on bringing some of our favorite comic book characters to life. One of the advantages of all of these television shows and films is the opportunity to bring many characters to life that we haven’t seen before. Who would have thought of the massive success that has been The Guardians of the Galaxy? Or the fact that Black Lightning has his own series. True I might be putting the cart before the horse but some casting information released yesterday has me very excited.

According to Deadline, Xochitl Gomez will be going from The Baby-Sitters Club to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The report states that she has been cast for the upcoming Marvel Studios’ film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This will feature a returning Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. A few months ago we also learned that Sam Raimi would be taking over the role of director. For the moment Marvel has not commented.

Currently, the details of Gomez’s character is unknown. But this writer and some others around the web are speculating that we could be looking at the future America Chavez. There are a lot of clues are leading us in this direction. First off, it has been rumored that her character would be making her debut in the Doctor Strange sequel and Gomez certainly fits their description. Then back in August, there had been audition tapes that have been shared online that appear to also give the confirmation of the character. Although it is important to note that the tape could have been fake. But all the signs point to America Chavez and that is exciting.

Along with Cumberbatch, Gomez is expected to join a returning Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor who are expected to reprise their roles. Along with Elizabeth Olsen who will be bringing Scarlet Witch. The storyline for the Doctor Strange sequel will be linking up with the Disney+ series, WandaVision that debuts this December. Production on the film will begin as soon as Cumberbatch finishes working on the next Spider-Man film.
