Dr.Ming Wang And Terry Chen Talk About The Miracle In Sight | INTERVIEW

There are heroes with capes and there are also heroes with a white coat and Dr.Ming Wang is one of them. In the new Angel Studios film, Sight that tells us the story of Dr.Ming Wang and how he made it to the US as a student with $50 in his pocket. Today he is a prestigious eye surgeon that performed over 55K procedures that include sight restoration. Terry Chen brings us the older version of Dr.Wang that is learning to live with some of his childhood pain.

The Synopsis 

Starring Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning Greg Kinnear (“Little Miss Sunshine”) and Terry Chen (“Almost Famous, “Falling”)—is based on the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a poor Chinese immigrant who defies all odds to become a world-renowned eye surgeon in the United States. Set in 1970s rural China, a young Ming faces persecution and despair at every turn; but with the support of his dedicated family and his own unwavering determination, he finds his way to America, attends Harvard and MIT, and helps develop an innovative technology that restores sight in millions. Taking on the seemingly impossible challenge of helping a blind orphan, the resilient Dr. Wang must reconcile with his own traumatic past and face the harsh reality that the strength of his own will can only go so far.

Terry Chen was born in Edmonton, Canada  and is half Taiwanese from the fathers side and Chinese from the mothers side. Chen pursued acting in Vancouver and one of his first projects was in the Cameron Crowe film, Almost Famous. Now, 25 years in the entertainment industry the actor has kept busy between television and films. In some projects like House of Cards, Jessica Jones and The Last of Us. This year he has already been seen in the CW Wild Cards, Roku Channel The Spiderwicks Chronicles and Hulu’s Under the Bridge  with Riley Keough.

During the Sight press day I was connected with Dr.Ming Wang and Terry Chen via Zoom. Dr.Wang shared what it was like to see his life unfold on the screen and being at the production set during filming. Chen discussed what it was like to have Dr.Want on set and getting to wear the white coat. They both discussed the meaning of a miracle and more!
