According to the latest Barside Buzz, the Dwarven character Narvi is to appear in The Rings of Power Season 2. Narvi is a Tolkien created character, though one about whom very little is known. The rumor comes from FoF who have a very reliable record for leaks in Rings of Power. In their latest video they say they can confirm the character of Narvi is on the cast sheet and the codename for the character is ‘ROLM’. The part has been cast and if you want to get into some casting speculation, feel free to check out the full video in the link above. However for now we have no idea who will play the character in Season 2. Spoilers, they reckon Will Keen (His Dark Materials) is the top contender, but that is a guess.
As for who Narvi is when discussing the books lore? Well, as said there is very little to go on. I believe the character is mentioned like 3/4 times across all Tolkien’s writings. Yet, we know that is the kind of territory we are in in this show. However at least it is a Tolkien created character.

Here’s all we know.
Narvi was a Dwarf who lived in Khazad-dum during it’s greatest period. At the time the character had a great friendship with Elven Lord Celebrimbor and the pair constructed the Doors of Durin. That’s the door from Fellowship of the Ring that has the whole, speak ‘friend’ and enter moment.
That’s it.
Speculation
It does seem like a good idea to give us another Elven/Dwarven relationship considering this was supposed to be the greatest friendship that ever existed between Elves and Dwarves. In the book mythology this relationship has more substance that the show only Elrond and Durin friendship. Yet, you have to say that may be the strongest part of Season 1 of the show.
My guess is that Season 2 will see the forging of the Seven. Though I’m less sure about the Nine, it would make sense for those to be forged around the same time. Therefore in Season 3 you suddenly have Dwarves with Rings and Human’s with Rings and suddenly things start to go bad for the good guys. One would assume Season 2 will represent the time before Sauron’s deceptions were known.
If I am correct, then we need some Dwarves we know to get Rings and become corrupted, Durin seems a certainty, could Narvi be another. Surely Celebrimbor’s friend would be awarded a Ring of Power?
