Surprise! Superman and Lois Lane are in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover Elseworlds. Okay, maybe that’s not too much of a surprise. If you’ve been following the CW shows and the progress of their impending crossover, you know that this one will feature a whole host of characters that expand an already-expansive superhero world.

Superman himself has shown up several times in Supergirl, but now we’ll be seeing his better half in the form of Lois Lane, played by Elizabeth Tulloch. But what will be the context of her appearance, and more importantly, at what stage is Superman with Lois in his relationship? First things first, check out the photo below of the couple.

There are two takeaways from this. The first is their relationship. It’s clear they know each other well, are close, and that she knows his secret identity, as Superman himself Tyler Hoechlin commented to TV Insider.

“[They] obviously have a very strong relationship that’s been going like that for a while. It’s deeper into the relationship, so there’s that comfortability factor and they know each other so well. They really kind of have a life together.”

Also of note is the ice all around them. Clearly, the pair is in the Fortress of Solitude, and we can’t help but wonder what circumstances lead them there. But what do you think of them?
