It should come as no surprise that Marvel does what it wants when it wants and how it wants. We have been led to believe that the aptly named Infinity Saga would conclude its third phase with Avengers: Endgame but that is not the case. Speaking at a fan event in Shanghai, China the Head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, was asked where Spider-Man: Far From Home falls phase wise and he said:
“It’s the end of the third phase. You’re the first one I’ve told that to.“
This wasn’t a large worldwide press outlet that got this answer. this wasn’t a late night talk show host with an existing relationship. This was a reporter who was just lucky enough to be at the right place, at the right time, with the right question, and a generous MCU mastermind. Getting an exclusive like that is every geeky journalist’s dream!

This reminds me of how we all thought Avengers: Age of Ultron would end Phase 2 but Marvel told us Ant-Man was the cap for the second phase. If Far From Home ends phase three is it still part of the Infinity Saga? Does that mean a stone may play a part in Far From Home? With time travel and a potential reset of timelines being a real possibility in Endgame, there could be a way for Mysterio to have gotten a hold of the Reality Stone and is using it to create the elementals we see in the trailer for Far From Home. I know that is a really big stretch, but it feels so odd for this to be the end of Phase 3 over Endgame… But who am I to question Kevin Feige?
