Evidence Mounts That Barton Has Hearing Loss In Hawkeye

First Hawkeye Trailer

Its definitely starting to look like Clint Barton has some hearing loss in Hawkeye. Barton going deaf was a comic storyline and many fans had predicted that this story may play out in the Hawkeye Disney+ show. However, many other fans were not ready to follow those theories. The fan base was split on this issue so much that a recent set photo showing Renner wearing a hearing aid caused debate. ‘This was really just a new post-COVID technique for actors and directors to speak’ said one group. The other group were saying, ‘no, this is a hearing aid because he has lost his hearing like the comic books’.

So who is right? Well, it looks like Barton does indeed have hearing issues. One of the latest set photos shows Barton and Bishop sat outside a doorway in some part of Asia. Some keen translation skills from fans has shown that the sign on the door marks the place out as a hearing clinic. When we place both these recent set photo’s together it certainly indicates Barton’s hearing loss in Hawkeye. We cannot share the image in question here sadly. However, I can provide you a link to the Reddit thread where I first saw this translated image.

I know there are some fans out there who will be very familiar with the classic comic book story. I am not one of them, so I have no kind of idea what Barton has lost his hearing, or why he is connected to Kate Bishop. Hawkeye comic must have not sold well in my area growing up I guess? I’ll happily remain ignorant until I get to see Hawkeye for myself.
