Ewan McGregor Says Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Ideas Are Being Explored

Some Star Wars news this weekend as Ewan McGregor says that Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 ideas are being explored. McGregor made an appearance at a LACC this past weekend. Our own Shockey was there as well, but he was too busy to go see McGregor. However, @JamieCinematics did and here’s their social media post describing what McGregor said.

Check it out below.

Cool, I guess? Well, I’ll perhaps say that I’d be open to an interesting story for Obi-Wan. I was not a fan of Obi-Wan Kenobi, it had some good ideas that were poorly executed, and it bent the canon a little too much here and there.

So, I’ll perhaps say that if some good writers have a really good idea that does not involve Darth Vader and Obi-Wan meeting face to face, and doesn’t have Leia or Luke involved, then I’ll pay attention.

I’d have no issue with Vader being in the show, just not directly chasing Obi-Wan. I think the most interesting route to go down would be showing Obi-Wan have to go somewhere as part of his training with Qui-Gon. Perhaps again face his demons, i.e. Vader/Anakin without Vader actually being there. Have Vader’s forces in the background if you must. Just don’t have him find out Obi-Wan is around. Therefore he won’t just chase after him again, (then let him go because of some CGI fire he out out 2 minutes ago).

Though, I am increasingly finding that this franchise is no longer writing for the people in my age group, outside of Andor. Therefore, I won’t have much expectation if this does happen.

What do you think as Ewan McGregor says that Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 ideas are being explored? Thoughts below as always.
