A hitman tries to stay alive in the futuristic sci-fi film Expired.

The film stars Ryan Kwanten, Jillian Nguyen, and Hugo Weaving. Ivan Sen directed and wrote the movie.

Here’s a brief synopsis of Expired:

Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) and Hugo Weaving (The Matrix series) star in this futuristic thriller set in a neon-drenched metropolis. As Jack (Kwanten) works as a hitman, his lonely life is altered by two strangers—one a club singer, the other a scientist (Weaving). Jack and the singer fall in love, but as their relationship grows stronger, Jack grows physically weaker, unable to assassinate the targets he seeks. Soon the scientist discovers the shocking reasons behind Jack’s deadly affliction.

It’s an action-thriller we’ve heard before of an assassin or hitman race against time versus death. Along the way, many secrets will be revealed—ultimately unmasking who wants him dead. For Expired, it has two good leads with Ryan Kwanten and Hugo Weaving. I’ll watch anything with Weaving in it. Plus, with all the neon colors and lights, it gives that sci-fi look of Blade Runner.

Expired is in select theaters and On Demand on March 18.
