Ezra Miller ‘Absolutely Confirmed’ A Flash Film

We haven’t seen The Flash aka Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, on the big screen since the 2017 DC superhero team up film, Justice League. Overall the film was not well received by both critics and audiences alike. Since then Warner Bros. has been trying to figure out a way to right the sinking ship that has been the DCEU. So far with Aquaman and SHAZAM! I would say that they are doing a better job. This fall we are looking forward to an outside the box approach with Todd Phillips’ Joker. Being that it’s almost 2020 this is not the line of films we thought we’d be getting by this point. One of the films that has been reported on and off again is The Flash, which we know had recently got a new creative team of the director of the upcoming IT: Chapter 2 and the screenwriter for Birds of Prey and Batgirl, Christina Hodson.

But what about the star of the film? Last we had heard it seemed like he was no longer going to be involved with the project. Miller recently talked about some of his upcoming projects with an interview with W. Korea, in which he seemingly confirmed The Flash among others. “Well, I’ll tell you the ones that I can tell you about, because they’re absolutely confirmed.” Miller explained. “[They] are Fantastic Beasts 3… The Flash movie… I’m making more music with Sons of an Illustrious Father, the band I’m in. And I’m also making some music on my own.”

Talks about him leaving The Flash came up when it was reported that the contracts for Miller and co-star Ray Fisher had expired in May. This was right around the same time also that the previous writers/directors John Francis and Daley Jonathan Goldstein had disagreed on the script for the film. This lead to Miller and Grant Morisson to put together their own version of the film.

It would be great to see Miller have a chance to portray Barry Allen’s character in a feature film. This also gets me thinking if for now maybe only Batman will be replaced in the DCEU. Are you happy to hear that Miller is still on board to play The Flash? Let us know in the comment section below!

Warner Bros. Flash film currently does not have a release date.
