F9: Is Ben Stiller Joining The Cast Of Fast And Furious 9?

The Fast and Furious Franchise is known for adding big blockbuster names to draw in audiences to continue to fill the seats as the films get more and more farfetched as the number on the title rises. The have added names like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron and even Helen Mirren. This time around, Fast and Furious 9 or F9 for short has added John Cena in what looks like might be a multiple film role.

So who’s next to joining the ever growing Fast and Furious franchise?

According to a report by Page Six, Ben Stiller reportedly has a role in the upcoming F9 film. They claim that the have learned from sources close to the production that Stiller will be shooting scenes for the film, his role is still a mystery. This is interesting timing as F9 had officially wrapped up filming back in November. In all likelihood if he is involved in the project, it will be a small role. Maybe even a teaser or just cameo at the end of the film. For now there is no official confirmation about Stiller on the film.

If Stiller is in fact in F9, it would be interesting to see what role they have him play. He is known mainly for comedies and not action films. The closest I can think of would probably be Starsky & Hutch and maybe Tropic Thunder? When you think of him films like Meet the Parents, Zoolander and Dodgeball come to mind. The franchise that started as a film about racing as gone very far from it’s roots, so not much is impossible.

F9 is directed by Justin Lin based on a script written by Daniel Casey. Stiller would join the cast that is made up of Vin Diesel, Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B and Sung Kang.
