The upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will feature a new character that is an assistant to the film’s protagonist, Newt Scamander. The assistant is said to have a crush on Newt, which should prove to make things difficult as it is said that the assistant’s love is unrequited. How large this character’s influence will be on Newt and the overall plot remains to be seen, especially since Newt’s former love interest is set to appear for the first time in the flesh with this sequel.

The film will be the sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is a spin-off from the Harry Potter film series and is set within the same universe. I would say that the Harry Potter films have to the most consistent quality of any big nerd franchise, and I hope that the Fantastic Beasts series continues that tradition. I have high hopes for the film as I thoroughly enjoyed the first film in the series.
Directed by Potterverse veteran David Yates (who also directed the first film in the series, and is also set to direct the three upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequels, along with directing the last four Harry Potter films), the film is written by J.K. Rowling, and has an all-star cast that includes, Eddie Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Jude Law, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, and Johnny Depp.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters November 16.
