Fantastic Four To Be Older With Kids Rumor | Barside Buzz

According to a new rumor the Fantastic Four are to be older and already with kids when they debut in the MCU. The rumors comes on the heels of a tweet by Deadline‘s Justin Kroll which said to get ready as the casting for this movie is about to gear up. After this, insider Jeff Sneider went on to make the above claim on this week’s The Hot Mic.

Specifically whilst offering no names this time, Sneider said Marvel are casting a little older for Sue and Reed Richards because they will already be parents in the movie. That of course could mean Franklin, Valeria, or both are in the movie. Franklin especially could be a potentially powerful weapon against Kang, in the comics he had reality warping powers. Whereas Valeria (no powers) was arguably even smarter than Reed (for her age). Though I am going by my own comic book memories here and I didn’t ever stick with the comics long enough to see either grow up. However given Kang’s comic book connections to the Richards family (he’s a future descendant), this would fit with the current story being told.

Marvel claimed recently they had no plans for a Young Avengers movie, but if this rumor is true it does at more teen heroes into the mix. We’ve met many teen heroes already and one can’t help assume that’s building to something more than a next generation one day? Given we already have Agatha (Harkness) in the mix, could we end up with her as a protector of the children just like in the comics eventually? Who knows and ultimately this is a rumor from only source for now, so as always, pinch of salt. I do however think we’ll know exactly who is playing these roles within a few months.

If you’ve read my articles previously, you know I’m a big Fantastic Four fan. Therefore I can’t wait to see the team in the MCU. I just hope this time it’s more hit than miss, having been disappointed at all previous attempts to get the team into live-action. I don’t have any strong feelings either way about whether we start with a younger team, right through to middle-aged or beyond. Though at least having an experienced and older team will separate this version of the story from those that have hit live-action previously.

What do you think of the new rumor the Fantastic Four are to be older and already with kids when they debut in the MCU.
