Fantastic New Ready Player One Poster Hits, Tickets On Sale Now!

For weeks, I’ve been unsettled by the shifty marketing from Warner Bros’ upcoming movie, Ready Player One. To me, between the pop culture posters, the characters shown in the trailer, and the total lack of emphasis on the overall story, it seemed to imply that the film was a dud — that they had no confidence in the story.

However, over the past couple days, we’ve been hearing nothing but positive buzz from the film, with it being lauded as a vast improvement on the source material. It’s with that positive buzz that Fandango is announcing that tickets are officially on sale for the Steven Spielberg-directed spectacle

The marketing for this film (for me), has been one misstep after another. While the pop culture posters were cool in theory, some of them felt more like fan art than the real deal, and while that first poster really worked well, on a visual level, there was that random, extended leg that was hard to overlook.

On the whole, this new Drew Struzan-style ’80s poster is a step in the right direction, and hopefully, one that will mark a shift in the marketing that will ultimately sell this film.

What do you think of the new poster? Let us know your thoughts down below!
