The Fast and Furious franchise has come a long way in the 15-plus years it’s been around. It started out in a grounded, semi-drama that took itself way too seriously. Over the next couple films, it would swing from one end of the spectrum of the other, trying to find its way. 2 Fast 2 Furious tried its hand a strictly Paul Walker-led film, and Tokyo Drift tried to reboot the entire franchise. The true reboot didn’t come until Fast and Furious hit theaters, reuniting Walker and Vin Diesel for the first time since the first flick. Since then, the franchise has been on the rise.
Things hit the next level in Fast Five when it introduced Dwayne Johnson into the mix, and sadly, the passing of Paul Walker in the middle of the production of Furious 7 helped to push the series into the stratosphere. It’s with all this in mind that we’ll be getting The Fate of the Furious, the eighth film in the franchise, and from the looks of the new trailer, it looks like it’ll be the most action-heavy one yet.
