Marvel boss Kevin Feige gives hope for Netflix character returns! Since the cancellation of Daredevil we have known that the Netflix version of the MCU was no more. Netflix had an exclusivity deal which means Marvel could not resume those shows or use those characters again for a period of time. That exclusivity period is over and Marvel Studios are free to use those Netflix characters if they wish.
However right now there appears to be no direct plans to resurrect any of those Netflix shows. There are rumors that Marvel has approached both Charlie Cox and Kristen Ritter to reprise their roles as Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones respectively. There are even rumors that Cox’s Murdock is already scheduled to show up in Spider-Man 3, and potentially She-Hulk.
So far though, Marvel has said nothing about those characters returning. In fact it was only this week that Feige was asked directly about those Charlie Cox rumors by Collider and he simply stayed silent. The interviewer clearly understood Feige would not answer that question and moved along to one he could answer. You can find that slightly awkward moment below.

However, since then Feige also spoke again with THR. This time the question was less direct than that posed by Collider and therefore Feige was able to give a more political non-answer. Yet, from what Feige says to THR, there is still a chance for some of those characters to show up again. No specifics though as you’d imagine.
“Everything is on the board. That’s one of the fun things about the comics is that characters would appear and disappear and come and go. All of it is inspiration for the future. There are some great characters and actors from those shows.”
Frankly, to not bring back Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, or Charlie Cox as Daredevil would be a crime. It really was perfect casting and I can’t think of any good reason for Marvel not to use those characters again. However, for now, until we hear otherwise, Feige is simply dangling a carrot, so we are back to rumors and speculation when it comes to that gone but not forgotten corner of the MCU.
What do you think as Kevin Feige gives hope for Netflix character returns? Who would you want to see back in the MCU, and who should remain a memory? As always leave any thoughts below if you can.
