Ferdinand Kingsley Joins Cast Of Supergirl

Some Supergirl news today following yesterdays trailer, James Gunn says the hero is 'messy' and apparently current cut is under two hours long.

Ferdinand Kingsley has joined the cast of Supergirl according to the actors own promotional agency. Kingsley (Silo, The Sandman), the son of veteran actor Sir Ben Kingsley is represented by CVGG and when you check his filmography on their site, it says his most recent role is in Supergirl. Kingsley is playing the role of Elias Knoll, which means the father of Ruthye. Ruthye is the young girl who Supergirl helps in the story, as per the comic story it’s being adapted from.

There are always lots of smaller roles like this that we find out after filming has wrapped. I won’t get into potential plot details, but it should be a small role only for Kingsley.

Supergirl is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026 and it will be the second DCU movie after Superman. Though, saying that it seems The Suicide Squad seems to match any canon. Therefore, we can probably call that film the first DCU film chronologically.

Supergirl see’s Kara (Milly Alcock) decide to help Ruthye against the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills. We also know Supergirl will come up against Lobo at some point, played by Jason Momoa in the film. Both Kara and Lobo are expected to return to the DCU in Man of Tomorrow. Though, in between Supergirl and Man of Tomorrow we also have Clayface coming, which does seem an odd choice for the third DCU film. Films based on both Wonder Woman and Batman are in development according to studio co-head James Gunn also.

Leave any thoughts about the DCU below as Ferdinand Kingsley joins Supergirl in the role of Ruthye’s father Elias.
