Continued Filming for Andor Season 2 Unaffected by Absence of Showrunner
Despite the absence of showrunner Tony Gilroy from the set, filming for the highly anticipated second season of Andor is proceeding as scheduled. The production recently returned to a familiar location from the first season, Canary Wharf station in London. Previously used to portray the exterior settings of the ISB offices on Coruscant, the station was transformed with greenscreen backgrounds for the day.
Excitement stirred among fans as images of the cast members and extras dressed in Imperial uniforms surfaced on social media. Notably, Dedra Meero (played by Denise Gough) was spotted facing away from the camera, standing alongside Major Partagaz (played by Anton Lesser), who was facing the camera. Bespin Bulletin has compiled additional images from the set, which can be found on their website. They note that the first season also utilized this location on a Sunday, taking advantage of the station’s lower attendance.
Filming for Andor Season 2 began in November of the previous year and consists of 12 episodes. The production is expected to wrap up in August, and all indications suggest that they are on track to meet this deadline for an August 2024 release on Disney Plus.
