We finally got our first look at the highly anticipated reimagination of “The Haunted Mansion”. The comically creepy Disney film is inspired by the classic beloved theme park attraction.
On Thursday Disney released a teaser trailer as well as a poster for the film that is set to appear in theaters on July 28. You can check it out below!
Being that it is a Disney film, it will be fun to see how much they turn up the frights compared to the comedy. But by some of those scenes we saw in the teaser, it would seem that we are going to be jumping out of our seats a few times.
“Haunted Mansion” is being directed by award-winning filmmaker Justin Simien. As we saw in the trailer, this film has an all-star cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, and Dan Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.
The film’s producers are Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.
“As a lifelong fan of the Haunted Mansion attraction, I’m beyond excited to share the teaser trailer for our new film adaptation featuring an incredible cast. Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, funny, and cinematic otherworldly adventure for both new and die-hard fans to enjoy! I can’t wait for audiences to experience this big screen version of the iconic Disney attraction,” said Simien.

It was 10 years ago that Walt Disney Pictures released “The Haunted Mansion”. That film was directed by Rob Minkoff. It featured a cast that included Eddie Murphy, Marsha Thompson, Terence Stamp, Wallace Shawn, and Jennifer Tilly.
“Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters. It begins to haunt theaters on July 28.
