One of the most anticipated films at the upcoming SXSW, Appendage is the newest feature film from the 20th Digital Studio and Hulu. Hulu has been great at showcasing really good horror films on its streaming platform lately.
The film stars Hadley Robinson (Little Women, I’m Thinking of Ending Things), Kausar Mohammed (The Flash, 4400), and Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek). Anna Zlokovic directed and wrote the movie.
Here is the description of the film:
Hannah (Robinson), a young fashion designer, seems fine on the surface, but secretly struggles with debilitating self-doubt. Soon these buried feelings begin to make Hannah physically sick and sprout into a ferocious grown on her body: The Appendage. As Hannah’s health declines, The Appendage begins to fuel her anxieties—her perceived lack of talent at work, her deteriorating relationships with her boyfriend and best friend, and her parents’ lack of love and understanding. At her breaking point, Hannah makes a shocking discovery—there are others out there like her.

Zlokovic previously created a short film under the same name that was part of the Bite Size Halloween on Hulu back in 2021.
Appendage makes its premiere at the South by Southwest Film and TV Festival in March. It’ll be available to stream on Hulu later this year.
