I am a dark and twisted person with an absolute love for horror! I am that guy that spends Halloween scaring people and does not care if your little bumblebee or ninja cries. If I could get the time off from my day job, I would love to do a season as an actor at an amusement park’s Halloween celebrations. Not only do I love scaring other people, but I love to get scared myself. It’s harder to do these days, and most of the time movies fail to really scare me, but I still love horror films. So of course, I am excited about the upcoming scary movie from Jordan Peele, Us.

Peele’s last outing in the genre gave us Get Out which blended incredibly dark humor with traditional horror masterfully. The movie was nominated for dozens of awards and managed to win Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars. This give’s the upcoming film, Us, a lot to live up to. That being said, the film was premiered at the SXSW convention and the feedback has been incredibly positive:
Jordan Peele's "Us" is a horror masterpiece. We are witnessing the birth of our modern day Hitchcock. 20 years from now we will ask one another what our favorite Peele film is & you will get 10/12 different answers. Incredible performance from Lupita Nyong'o! #UsMovie #UsFirst pic.twitter.com/vvHunYqSxd

VERY into #USMovie. An eerie thrill PACKED with A+ set pieces. The whole ensemble is something else. An unforgettable big screen family right here. A wild, highly engaging ride but best of all, it’s not one to quickly shake off after it ends. Gonna have it on my mind for a while.

#SXSW: @JordanPeele’s #USmovie frays your nerves with exacting precision, ambitious original ideas, and moments that will traumatize (in… the best way, as great genre films do?) a whole generation of youngs who sneak in to see it. ✂️ Also: Lupita. Is. INCREDIBLE. pic.twitter.com/bdM5EwI0bW

These are just a few examples with more provided at Comic Book Movie. This type of reaction gives me all sorts of happy feelings about this movie. I am curious to see if this movie will forego comedy as a whole, or if Peele maintains some dark humor in it. A major plus for this movie is the fact it is an original idea. This is not a sequel, remake, or reboot and I am thankful for that. Us hits the big screen on March 22nd.
