First Titans Poster Shows Our Heroes United

DC Universe has a lot to prove. It has to prove that audiences would be willing to actually pay for original content that is restricted solely to the properties under the DC banner. In a world where we’re already overloaded with more superhero films and TV shows than we know what to do with, is this something that’s possible?

The first trailer for their flagship title Titans had some folks unsure. Yes, it was dark, but its overly-dark nature was a great debate among fans. Was this really the Titans series we wanted to see on the small screen? Of course, the first episode of the series is still a week or so away from premiering at New York Comic Con, so we can’t judge it fully just yet. But in anticipation of that premiere, DC Universe sent us the first official poster for the show.

The new poster shows all four of our heroes ready to take on the dangers of this dark world. At the top, we have Raven, a deeply troubled girl Robin has taken an interest in. At the bottom, we have Dick Grayson (aka Robin), who has just come out of the shadow of Batman. In the middle are Starfire and Beast Boy.

On the whole, I’d say the poster looks okay. It’s a bit cheesy but still palatable in my eyes. However, one unforgivable sin committed is the damn tiger that they put semi-transparent over Beast Boy. As if his appearance wasn’t enough, we needed to see a literal beast so we knew what was up.
