Fishflies 2 New Twists In Jeff Lemire’s Surreal Horror Series

Image Comics is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of “Fishflies #2,” offering fans an early glimpse into the eerie world of Jeff Lemire’s small-town surrealist horror series. Scheduled for release on Wednesday, October 11, this issue promises to deliver more spine-tingling mysteries and unsettling transformations as the story unfolds.

The latest chapter in the six-issue miniseries continues to follow Franny Fox as she aids a mysterious fugitive who has undergone a bizarre metamorphosis. As the tension mounts in Belle River, the town’s residents remain on edge, desperately searching for the individual responsible for the shooting of young Paul DuPuis.

Jeff Lemire, the creative mastermind behind “Fishflies,” expressed his excitement about the series but also shared unfortunate news regarding issue #2. He stated, “I’m so proud of Fishflies and want every extra-length issue to be perfect. With that in mind, issue #2 is going to be delayed due to an unfortunate production error. But the delay won’t affect the rest of the schedule. Issue #3 will be out soon after in November as planned. Thanks for the support!”

“Fishflies #2” will be available in comic book shops on October 11. Additionally, fans can look forward to “Fishflies #3,” which is scheduled for release on Wednesday, November 15. For those who prefer digital reading, “Fishflies” is also accessible across various platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

The series has garnered praise from critics and readers alike for its unique blend of horror and coming-of-age storytelling. Reviews for “Fishflies #1” have been overwhelmingly positive, with AIPT describing it as “equal parts Tales from the Crypt and Stand By Me,” while ComicBook.com noted its “visceral sense of uneasiness” and “unquestionably memorable” narrative. Comicon.com praised Jeff Lemire’s storytelling, emphasizing that it is “a very good thing for readers,” and Major Spoilers called it “a great slow burn of a comic that keeps readers guessing.”

With the delay of issue #2 and the promise of an uninterrupted release schedule, fans can anticipate an exceptional continuation of the “Fishflies” series as it dives deeper into the enigmatic horrors lurking in Belle River.
