Flashpoint: Iris West To Be From A Different Time Period In The DCEU?

It sound’s like The Flash’s well known love interest, Iris West, may not be of our time period in the upcoming Flash movie, Flashpoint. Speaking with ET Online, actress Kiersey Clemons shared the following regarding the DC Extended Universe’s Iris West:

“Because of going back and forth past and future with The Flash, you don’t even know what time period you actually meet Iris.”

That’s definitely a little bit confusing, and an interesting take on the character. In regards to the current status of the Flashpoint film, she confirmed recent rumors regarding the script:

“We’re in the process of still replacing our director. We just got a new script.”

It, of course, cannot be overlooked that Iris West is a big character on The CW’s The Flash. With that in mind, some fans may be wondering if she plans to pull inspiration from actress Candice Patton. Apparently not!

“I mean, to be honest, I haven’t tried to pull from her at all,” Clemons told the outlet. “I want my Iris West to be its own world.”

We have to admire her desire to start from scratch. After all, it’s not like the DCEU is taking very many cues from the Arrowverse.

What do you think of Iris West potentially coming from a different time as Barry Allen? Is it cool or just needless confusing? Let us know your thoughts down below!
