Florence Pugh In Talks To Join Scarlett Johansson In Black Widow Film

Sure are all anxiously waiting for Avengers: Endgame, but Marvel Studios is already have their sights set on their future projects. For example, Black Widow which will feature Scarlett Johansson’s Avengers’ character. This film is being directed by Cate Shortland, who might be best known for her Nazi drama Lore. Black Widow is scheduled to begin shooting in London this June.

In talks to join Johansson in this film is rising star Florence Pugh according to The Hollywood Reporter. She would be playing a spy on the same level as Natasha Romanoff but with opposite morals. Overall the plot for the film is being kept under wraps but it is said to be an international set story around Romanoff, a spy assassin who grew up being trained by the KGB before leaving them and becoming a SHIELD agent and eventually an Avenger.

Pugh is quickly building her resume, as she has starred as an undercover agent on AMC’s miniseries The Little Drummer Girl, appearing in The Outlaw King and most recently starred in the highly praised family drama Fighting With My Family. Going forward she also will be featured in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and leads the cast of the highly anticipated horror film Midsommar. Pugh is repped by WME and Bloom Hergott.
