For James Cameron, “Avenger Fatigue” Cannot Come Soon Enough

Do you like superhero movies? Excited for Avengers: Infinity War?

Well, James Cameron isn’t, and he hopes that genre you enjoy so much dies a quick death.

On Saturday, the man behind the once iconic sci-fi franchise Terminator, and a “franchise” that already had its moment, Avatar, told reporters that he’s a fan of the Avengers films, but fears they have dominated too much of the action/sci-fi genre, per IndieWire:

“I’m hoping we’ll start getting Avenger fatigue here pretty soon. Not that I don’t love the movies. It’s just, come on guys, there are other stories to tell besides hyper-gonadal males without families doing death-defying things for two hours and wrecking cities in the process. It’s like, oy!”

It sounds like you don’t love the movies, Mr. Cameron. Your complete lack of sincerity and how out of touch you are with audiences is even more exaggerated than I previously thought. In fact, I don’t even think you’ve seen the movies.

If he had, Cameron may notice the superhero genre has encompassed more genres within it, with more diverse characters than Cameron’s entire catalogue.

Yes, Cameron hopes we all stop seeing superhero movies… so we can see whatever crap he’s churning out these days. I’m sure his Terminator franchise could benefit from the collapse of the superhero genre – nothing else in Hell is saving it — and since people already have Avatar fatigue before the second film is complete, I guess misery loves (and invites) company.

Are you sitting at home, staring at sketches of blue people while you hope for Avengers: Infinity War to fail? If you could have a world with ONLY Avatar and Terminator films OR Marvel Cinematic Universe films, which would YOU choose? Let us know below!
