The next James Franco-Seth Rogen film is coming up later this year, and their clever cross-promotion with MTV has made its way online. The duo came up with a way to make audiences buy into Franco’s “Dave Skylark” character in advance of the movie, The Interview. In the film, Skylark and his producer (Rogen), are tasked by the C.I.A. to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un while under the guise of conducting an interview. 

For their MTV crossover, we get to see Skylark in action as an entertainment journalist interviewing current hot stars like Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo, and Nicki Minaj. The Skylark special that aired prior to the VMAs is now available online, and you can check it out below:

The Interview arrives in theaters on Christmas Day.
