According to the latest Barside Buzz Gal Gadot is rumored to be replaced as Wonder Woman in the big DCU reboot. We’ve likely all suspected this was coming. It does seem as though there is a full reboot in progress and none of the current incumbents will be sticking around for what comes next. However, I guess there were some fans still had some hope one or two might survive the cull.
Insider Daniel RPK is now claiming that like the others Gadot will be replaced as Wonder Woman in the new DCU. The leaker made the rather unsurprising claim on his Patreon service.
Right now there are reports saying that everyone is gone, including Zachary Levi and Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. The only current incumbent that looks set to keep going is Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which is considered a separate entity from the DCU at large it seems. So where does that leave the likes of Peacemaker Season 2 which is created by Gunn himself? Until we know more officially, who can say for sure?

I guess my only thoughts on this reboot, is that it has comes years too late. I mean, better late than never. However WB should have started again after the failure of Batman V Superman. That’s my opinion at least. At that point it may have been possible to salvage all the actors they wanted to keep. However, it took 10 years for the DCEU to get rebooted into the DCU. As such, actors have gotten older, and more costly to secure as their stars rose. By rebooting, perhaps WB will save money on actors fees with a brand new young cast and a multi picture contract?
Then again, what do I know about running a movie studio? All I know is that the DCEU was watchable fluff at best. At worst it was dull and dreary, and riddled with studio meddling. Let’s hope Gunn and Saffran can lead the DCU to be every bit as good as the MCU.
