Star Gal Gadot says she’s expecting to develop Wonder Woman 3 with James Gunn and Peter Safran. The DC bosses are rebooting the DCEU into the DCU. The first live-action movie will be the Gunn directed Superman: Legacy. For a while we have known that two of the holy trinity of DC characters were being recast. David Corenswet is the new Superman and casting has yet to take place for Batman. However Diana’s fate has never been clear, will the role be recast, or will it still be Gadot?
I think most fans simply assumed a recast would happen. The first phase of the DCU, Gods and Monsters, so far has no Wonder Woman project listed. I therefore think most of assumed when they eventually got to Wonder Woman, Gadot would be ageing out of the role and it would be recast. However, let’s be clear, this was speculation only. Nothing official was ever published or stated by DC/WB.
Now it seems like we may have been wrong. In a recent interview with ComicBook Gadot says she’s expecting to develop a Wonder Woman 3 with Gunn and Safran. It’s no secret that Gunn and Safran rejected the chance to make the Wonder Woman 3 that was in development by Patty Jenkins. So let’s see what Gadot had to say when asked abut playing Wonder Woman by the outlet.
“I love portraying Wonder Woman,” Gadot says. “It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

Gadot then commented on the casting process for Superman: Legacy so far. Though at the time of interview was not aware of who had won which role.
“I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don’t know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great,” Gadot says. “So I’m happy for them. It’s such a huge take-on and it’s such an exciting beginning to any actor, and I wish whoever it’s going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride.”
I guess all that remains is to find out if Gadot will share a screen with them some time? What do you think, should they stick with Gal, or recast the role of Wonder Woman for the DCU?
