It’s been one year, seven months and 18 days days since the last new episode of Game of Thrones aired in late August of 2017, but the wait is nearly over. Though the wait for the eighth season of the hit HBO serieswas as long and brutal as a Westerosi winter, I think most fans are ok with it as they would rather the show end properly than have a subpar ending. Fans are looking at about a month and a half until the final seasons premieres on April 14.
As the season approaches the promotion is sure to ramp up, as seen with these newly released character posters. As you can see, some of the characters have some fancy new threads, including Sansa Stark, and her brother Bran, who now seems to be sporting a monk-like outfit. It seems to me there are only two people that actually want to sit on the Iron Throne are Daenerys Targaryren and Cersei Lannister. At least these two seem to have the strongest desire to rule the Seven Kingdoms. I’m sure Jon, Tyrion, Sansa, and Jamie would take the job if it fell to them, but it doesn’t seem like their current M.O.
How disturbing is it to see the Night King sitting on the Iron Throne? Just keep in mind, this is Game of Thrones after all, and while I’m not sure how likely it is, this is not out of the realm of possibility.
