Y: The Last Man’s synopsis:

Based on DC Comics’ acclaimed series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. The series follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.

I don’t know why he has a pet monkey, but okay. It’ll be interesting to see how the survivors get by with about half the population gone. One problem they will have is many mammals are predators and with no males to keep the population going, disease from creatures like insects will become a problem. Maybe they’ll talk about that. One character in the trailer told Yorick that he was reproductively interesting. I wonder how thick the series will lay on that he’s a breeder. Very creepy.

Y: The Last Man stars Ben Schnetzer as Yorick Brown, Juliana Canfield as Beth DeVille, and Ashley Romans as Agent 335. The series also stars Diane Lane as Senator Jennifer Brown and Olivia Thirlby as Hero Brown. Y: The Last Man will have 10 episodes. Check it out in September.
