Peacock Released The Official Trailer For GIRLS5EVA

Peacock has released the official trailer of the new series GIRLS5EVA scheduled to premiere May 6th. Take out the mics to sing along with the one-hit-wonder girl band trying to make a comeback after two decades!

The Synopsis 

When a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90’s gets sampled by a young rapper, its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva?

The GIRLS5EVA group is composed by the Grammy winners Sara Bareilles (Little Voice), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live). In addition to the New York Times Best selling author, activist and host  Busy Philipps (He’s Just Not That Into You).

This new series was created by Meredith Scardino who is also executive producer. She has been a writer for television series like The Colbert Report, Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Saturday Night Live and earlier this year NBC’s Mr.Mayor starring Ted Danson.

Attached as executive producers is the SNL favorite Tina Fey, Jeff Richmond (30 Rock), Robert Carlock, David Miner and Eric Durian.

The GIRLS5EVA series will premiere on Thursday, May 6th. The eight episodes will be available at once on Peacock.
