Glass Final Trailer Hits!

Here it is. The final trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, the culmination of the story started way back in 2000 — years before comic book movies would be the marketable commodity they are today. With that first film, Unbreakable, Shyamalan even had to bury all the comic book stuff deep within the film’s plot so that the studio wouldn’t think it too unmarketable.

Now, things have changed, and after the strong side-quel film, which worked as a solid thriller, it looks like they are ready to go full superhero — or at least as superhero as a relatively low budget film will allow. But, hopefully, they’ll go superhero without losing that relatively grounded feel the first two movie has, and based on what we’ve seen so far (including this new trailer), I don’t think it’ll be a huge problem.

Below is the official synopsis for Glass:

“From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.

Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.”

Glass hits theaters on January 18, 2019.
